Projects from GorgeMaker Space
Hood River New School students have been working with instructor Jack Perrin of Gorge MakerSpace - @gorgemakerspace - to create helpful solutions to challenges faced by local high school students living with disabilities. Students have been busy designing, developing, revising, and finally presenting their solutions for these very real-world problems. Beyond creative problem solving, students also learned how to use a micro:bit to control the functionality of their inventions.
The micro:bit is a pocket-sized computer that introduces students to how software and hardware work together.
Check out their final video project presentations to see creative solutions in action:
- Ripley, Jack, Brenton, and Sawyer created a video game hat.
- Rye, Lauren, Lusa, and Bridger invented a card dealing machine.
- Rosie, Arlie, Lily, and Eleanor made a tactile board game.
