Transportation at Hood River New School
Hood River New School serves students from all across the Columbia River Gorge, and while we do not provide student transportation, our families have built a strong carpooling network to help students get to and from school. All transportation during the school day for field trips and off campus classes is provided. In addition, a few public transportation options through Gorge Transit can assist with commuting. We have a strong relationship with Gorge Transit and can offer support to get started with using public transportation through the use of Travel Trainers who can answer questions and even ride along with students the first few times.
Public Transportation:
We have identified the most useful Gorge Transit routes for our students within walking distance:
Cascade Locks: Morning and after-school bus service available on Columbia Gorge Express.
Washington (White Salmon): Afternoon bus service available on Mt. Adams Transportation.
Hood River: After-school local loop available on City Loop.
