Skateboard Art Class with Michelle Yamamoto
Michelle Yamamoto, Hood River New School’s Fine Arts teacher, invites all shredders, skateboarders, and art lovers to Skateboard Art! Skateboard Art is a three-hour per day, three-day class for 10-14 year olds. Drawing experience is required for this class.
Dates: June 24, 25 & 26, 2024
Time: 1:00 - 4:00 pm
For students entering 4th - 8th grade in fall 2024
Students will paint the deck of a California-made 8.5” skateboard. The deck will be versatile for both riding skateparks and streets. Finished decks can be mounted with trucks, or artists can add a wire mount to hang their work of art! All art supplies are included in the class fee.
Drawing, composition, and color mixing terms and techniques are introduced. Students are encouraged to be bold and creative in their designs.
Students should pack a snack and water for camp days.
